The hotel is in a great location. It has a good walking track which takes you into the city centre in around 15 mins. There is a fantastic restaurant onsite, but there are also other food and restaurant options nearby. There’s plenty of free parking which you wouldn’t get with other central hotels. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and modern. I was given a room upgrade which was a bonus. Would definitely stay here again if I’m back in Launceston.
We stayed here for the last 2 nights of our 2 week honeymoon trip around Tasmania. We were a little confused that reception desk wasn't on the ground floor, when we arrived at reception we were made very welcome by the lovely staff and the beautiful Labrador. The staff explained everything very well, apologized for the chaos due to the running festival and also suggested some options for when we had to check out to avoid the Rd closure. When we got into our room we found a lovely cold bottle of bubbles and some delicious local chocolate truffles, thankyou so much. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, on the 3rd floor with nice views of the river. We even received a call from the manager to make sure we weren't to inconvenienced and confirmed options for check out morning so we didn't miss our flight. We can't compliment the service here enough. Breakfast on first morning was nice, not awesome. Dinner again was nice but not worth the money, breakfast on the second morning was average I think due to the rush caused by the running festival starting from out front not long after.
This was the best hotel I've stayed at in a while. It was super clean, the hot water pressure was like a fire hose, the bed was comfy. All the Fox channels, including sport and Chromecast enabled. The view from the room was a postcard and the service was warm and friendly. The chocolate truffles on check in were a highlight. I don't think it's stay anywhere else in Launceston.
Celebrating my 26th wedding anniversary at the Silo. It’s a nice place but I had to leave $100.00 deposit and bank card details upon arrival. I did not appreciate this hidden cost and politely questioned the policy. A member of the reception staff began treating me like a rude customer rather than remaining professional which made the whole check-in process awkward and embarrassing. I personally don’t feel like this system is professional, secure or necessary in upmarket hotels. I stated that I felt vulnerable leaving my card details and money with reception and the staff member stated that I “would get my money back in a few days, depending on my bank”. Another member of reception resolved the issue by stating that I could provide formal feedback at a later date. A complimentary bottle of wine in the room went a long way to making my wife and I feel comfortable again (the wine was provided due to it being our anniversary!). The room and view was beautiful and I would stay again but the food at the property is too overpriced. A cup of tea in a take away cup cost me 7.50 and was average at best (the tea costs more on Sunday which is another hidden cost). A great room but the property needs to revisit its policies and food prices if they want to attract repeat business.
We recently stayed at this hotel and had a very positive experience from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were consistently professional, courteous, and attentive throughout our stay. The room was clean, well-maintained, and beautifully designed, with all the necessary amenities to ensure comfort and convenience. We particularly appreciated the attention to detail in housekeeping and the overall quiet, relaxing atmosphere of the property. The hotel’s facilities were also impressive, offering a good range of services that enhanced the overall experience for us. Whether for business or leisure, the environment felt welcoming. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the level of customer service. Staff members were approachable and quick to assist with any requests. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable place to stay. We would be happy to return on our next trip to Launceston.
