Saint John Craft Beer Bar is easily one of the best places to enjoy craft beer in Tasmania. The moment you walk in, the vibe feels relaxed and welcoming. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between a lively bar and a comfortable place to sit back and enjoy good company. What really stands out is the incredible selection of craft beers. There are plenty of taps rotating with local Tasmanian brews as well as interesting options from around Australia and beyond. If you enjoy exploring different styles of beer, this place is a small paradise. The staff are also knowledgeable and happy to recommend something based on your taste. The food is surprisingly good for a beer bar. The burgers and bar snacks pair perfectly with the beers and the portions are generous. Everything feels fresh and well prepared. The interior has a modern industrial feel with plenty of seating options, making it great for friends, casual dates, or just relaxing after a long day. It can get busy during peak hours, which honestly shows how popular the place is. Overall, a fantastic craft beer spot in Launceston with great drinks, great food, and a great atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting if you are in Tasmania.
The best Craft Beer bar in Launceston hands down. Always come here when coming across from Melbourne. 18 taps with the best of international, Australian and Tasmanian craft beer. As well as a fantastic range of bottled and canned beer (100+), craft ciders, wines and top-shelf spirits. The staff behind the bar are awesome! Food menu (New one as of a couple days ago is Great. A simple cheese burger was very tasty (see photo) if you are in Launceston and love craft beer you won't be disappointed.
Went to St John's for a quick dinner and drink. Ordered at the bar, had no problem finding a table. However, our meal took over an hour, at which point we were ready to leave. Can't say much for atmosphere, the burger was decent but not worth waiting an hour for.
St. John Craft Beer is an absolute standout. The beer selection is amazing, with something for every taste, and every pour is top quality. The food completely elevates the experience—spectacular tacos packed with flavor and a beautifully done charcuterie platter that pairs perfectly with the drinks. It’s also great to see solid gluten-free options available, making it an inclusive spot for everyone. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to with 5 star service by the team
