Well... i will not be returning to Three Steps on George. What started out as a lovely night, ended pretty awful. Drink was good, food wasn't so amazing. Got a Scotch fillet steak for $44. Didn't mind forking out as a friend at the bar said it was good. I ordered the steak medium rare and got what i can only describe as cardboard quality. I took the steak back and before i complained i asked my friends opinion if it was the same as they got. They said no and before i stopped speaking the bartender abused me for asking my friends about the steak and not coming to her first. Never felt so stupid and embarressed in my whole life, so i tool the steak downstairs and ate it as i didnt want the bar lady to abused me further and embaress me. I was absolutely starving after working 8 hours, she made me feel guilty and small. I left quietly. Absolutely horrible experience.
Outstanding friendliness of staff and nice authentic old bar ambience. Good food and beer.
Cool place to dine or just sit at the bar with some local beers on tap🍻 Pub has plenty of character, with a variety of ornaments around the walls. Ground level + upstairs dining, pool table and good range on the menu. Ptetty much attached to the Quality Hotel Colonial Launceston makes it very convenient to eat & stay. Service & food was good, friendly staff!
We did not book and had just got to the hotel next door to 3 steps it was around 7pm it took around 45 mins to get our mains and my "homestyle rissoles " were still raw in the middle , my wife's fish and chips were cold. We ordered a Cobloaf to share as an entre and it arrived after about 10mins, much to the chagrin of the table behind us who voiced the displeasure of us being served before them, as they had been waiting for 40min. This in all honesty was probably the worst dining experience in my 58yrs on this planet. The staff saved this review being worse, as they were extremely apologetic and did not charge me for my meal. I would never recommend eating here .
lovely meal and very quaint atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and Carlinda, our waitress, was amazing. Super busy but calm and efficient and never stopped smiling. The sort of employee every boss wishes for. Definitely worth a meal here, can’t go wrong.
