Applied for benefits the beginning of April..This by far has to be the worst social service I’ve dealt with in my life. Why is it taking months for applications to be processed?? I have a disabled child in home, currently pregnant and have 2 other kids as well!! How in the hell did y’all get backed up for MONTHS.. Someone needs to call the governor, Greenville is not a big big city for this to be happening. When you call.. they give you no type of update/info. You leave messages and get no return phone call back! This is unacceptable.
If there was a way to leave 0 stars I would because how in the world are they still working on December -February applications! I applied back in April and still haven’t had anyone on my case yet. And when I called in April they told me they were backed up and working on December and January applications. How has it been 3 months and y’all are still working on those same months. There aren’t that many ppl applying for food stamps in Greenville so how in the world does it take more than 3 months to finish a month worth of ppl
I received a decision letter which stated that I was denied benefits because I did not meet citizenship requirements. I was born here. The letter said to call my caseworker. I called the number next to the name on the letter. She said that she is not my caseworker. She transferred me to someone else. They told me that sometimes the letters are not accurate and that the letter just shows the dates and amounts. I also got a very low amount even though I pay bills which are higher than my income. Both of these women could not get me off of the phone fast enough. Each conversation was rushed and I hung up feeling confused, and unsatisfied with the service I received.
80 year old in wheel chair never got to talk to anyone. After going through the line twice and filling out a small book of papers was told I could go home they would call me between 4 pm and 5 o'clock. Left my home at 1 pm and 5 or later get home. Having surgery May 8th for hip replacement. Wanted to talk with someone about some help. Elderly get pushed around unless they have someone to talk or stand up for them. My body might be worn out but my mind is sharp as a tac.
Social worker called and I wasnt around but didnt leave voicemail. I called the number back and they transferred me to my worker. I have left voicemails because she never answers her phone but she also doesnt return calls either. It has been a week and I have left 3 voicemails. It is ridiculous.
