I had an awesome experience at Junkyard Fitness! Lauren was an incredible coach from the moment I walked in. Super friendly, motivating, and welcoming, especially for someone newer to the classes. She brings great energy, explains everything really well, and pushes you in the best way possible while still making the environment fun and comfortable. You can tell she genuinely cares about helping people improve and feel confident during the workout. The class was challenging in all the right ways, and I left feeling great afterward. Highly recommend checking out Junkyard Fitness and definitely taking a class with Lauren!
Liked the class. Appreciated the modifications friendly atmosphere and help from instructor. Songs were fun. Wish childcare didn’t involve TV (or maybe not for the entire period of the class?) but I get it when there are more kids. We try to limit screens but you do what you can, I guess! Overall, enjoyed class and am hopeful coming back will help me rebuild strength after a hard season
I have been coming to this gym since 2021 and I can honestly say it is the best place to be!! The best atmosphere and the best coaches who push you to your limits. LOVE the Junkyard community!
Great workout! It’s high energy and everyone is encouraged to push yourself, but it’s only as hard as you want to make it. In other words work at your own pace. This is circuit training at its best in my opinion - coach lead, group participation, loud music, low lights. Everyone is there to do work not look around at everyone. I was new and didn’t know anyone but I was perfectly welcome. Everything was well explained and I was paired up with another coach who was there for the workout. The location is perfect for anyone within 5-10 miles of downtown Greenville. Should be able to get there really quick. It’s tucked behind Carolina Bauernhaus - same parking lot - don’t let GPS take you down Doe St. Also the Google maps satellite image is way out of date - all the surrounding buildings are renovated. The setting is super cool. Took a few pics. Anyone who is thinking of trying Orange Theory or Iron Tribe or CrossFit or anything like that should definitely give the Junkyard a shot.
The Junkyard is owned by Marcus Brown and Ben Boulward. The name originated from Ben’s college football nickname. After college they wanted to create a space to be seen and heard without the judgment, allowing for a therapeutic fitness experience. Let that rage out! The dark aesthetic and no mirrors was intentional, so no influencer mirror selfies in this place, not that you would even have time! They created Junkyard to give everyone that sense of community/comradery and accountability that they had through team sports. Giving everyone a feeling of togetherness through fitness. Taking pride in greeting everyone by name and getting to know everyone’s specific training style. They WILL push you past your comfort zone with tough love, so embrace the uncomfortable and prepare for growth, mental and physical. The Junkyard hosts community outings, kickball and even mud run events for its members. While also supporting the community as a whole working with Habitat for Humanity, Rebuild Upstate, Clothes Drives, and Food Drives. This is an all ages gym with members ranging from 16 to 60+ participating in their Cross Training and Endurance Cardio classes. The Junkyard has 4 locations: Greenville, Anderson, Clemson and their newest location at Bridgeway Station in Mauldin
