I cannot recommend Mark at XU CPA enough. I did my own taxes for many years, but once 2020 hit and tax laws started changing, I no longer felt comfortable handling them on my own. I hired a CPA who seemed knowledgeable, but he was difficult to reach and charged far more than felt reasonable for how simple our taxes were at the time. In 2022, I knew it was time to find someone new. I was referred to Mark at XU CPA, and he came highly recommended. By then, our taxes had become much more complex because my husband had started a small business involving crypto. From my very first conversation with Mark, he immediately put my mind at ease. I decided to give him a chance, and I am so glad I did. Mark has gone truly above and beyond for us. We ended up with a major issue related to our 2021 taxes that had been filed by our previous CPA. The IRS claimed we owed nearly $10,000, and it took a long time to resolve. Even though Mark had nothing to do with filing those taxes, he took the time to dig into the issue, review IRS notices, identify the problem, and guide me through exactly what was needed to fight and appeal it. Throughout the entire process, he stayed in touch, followed up, and made sure I had everything I needed. Thanks to his knowledge, persistence, and dedication, the balance the IRS said we owed was ultimately waived. Mark takes the time to explain what is going on, makes sure we understand our options, and ensures we are not leaving money on the table. He is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and trustworthy. In addition to handling our personal taxes, Mark is also the CPA for the business I work for. Even though we are a small business, we are very demanding when it comes to accounting. Mark and his team, Anita and Caiti, are absolutely amazing and help us with all aspects of our accounting needs. They are responsive, professional, and genuinely care about their clients.
